Blogging will not make you rich...

...I guess we all knew that. But a few days ago I noticed that the Google ads knew this as well...

Curiosity killed the cat. What killed the dog?

You know the saying "Curiosity killed the cat". Now I wonder (out of curiosity...) what killed the dog?

So far I have found two answers:

Both of these indicates that curiosity got the dog as well. I do not really believe this, as cats and dogs are usually positioned to have different personalities.

Do you have an answer?

PS. Incidently the Swedish word dog means killed. At least almost

PPS. Was it the killer app. or the killer attitude? Or lack of any of these?

PPPS. It might be a matter of "killer attitude vs. kill the attitude"..?

Geni.com - LinkedIn for your family

I have been using Geni.com since the beginning of February. It is a quite natural combination of genealogy and key components of the Web 2.0 buzzwords. Essentially it allows you to create an on line family tree and invite other to contribute from their viewpoint. I have spotted a few similiar sites, but Geni.com is the one I like the most so far. Even though there's a few features still on the wish list, the overall usability is quite good.

You might think of Geni.com as LinkedIn for your family, which might give the Swedish word "svågerpolitik" a new meaning...

The tree I started has now grown quite a bit, and have several contributors. Currently over 50 active users (of which I invited only a handful) and close to 1000 individuals in the total tree. And still counting.

Besides the fact that I now easily can refresh my memory of how the families of my and my wife's cousins looks like, I get an interesting overview of relatives I have never met, a few highlights can be mentioned so far:
  • I invited two distant relatives to join the tree (we are related 8 generations back) .
  • My colleauge Daniel also started with his tree at the same time. We recently found that there's a connection between our trees... I wouldn't call us related, but my brother-in-law is related to Daniel's sister-in-law ten generations back. So now we are eagerly awaiting a tree merge feature from Geni.com so we can join our trees.
  • My brother and his wife announced their second pregnancy by adding the child-to-be to their branch of the tree. Then they sat back and waited for reactions...

So, all in all, try iy out - it's fascinating. Who knows, we might be related? (and if we're not you can always find me on LinkedIn (http://linkedin.com/in/myrberger))

Directory of Puzzle Collectors & Puzzle Sellers

The latest edition of the Directory of Puzzle Collectors & Puzzle Sellers arrived yesterday. Great!

Previous editions have been my guide when travelling - a good way to find puzzle stores in new places I visit.

There's plenty of puzzle related internet sites, I'll get back to that later...

MMS Traffic Growth article

Here's a link to an article featuring me... http://www.ericsson.com/mobilityworld/sub/articles/other_articles/06jun15

Traffic Growth is a very interesting topic, at least if you ask me.

However - "There's no killer app. - only a killer attitude", and this is true in a Traffic Growth context as well. It doesn't matter how good (and potential "killer") an application is, if it isn't handled with the killer attitude. This goes both for how the application is brought to the market/users (in this context by the operator or the service provider), as well as how the application is treated internally in eg. the product management and sales/marketing diciplines (when a supplier of the application brings it to operators/service providers).

This makes the overall success of any Traffic Growth initiative a Human Resource activity, at least partly - when did you last see an HR representative in a Traffic Growth activity?
